Lexan Safe are manufactured from LEXAN®, a General Electric Trademarked 'impact modified Polycarbonate' known world wide for its great strength and extremely high impact resistance. Tough as steel, virtually indestructible. A resilient memory material which makes the unit prise-proof, even assuming that a thief finds the installation in the first place. LEXAN® is so strong it is used in high security applications to manufacture products such as:
- Bullet-resistant windows.
- Bank security screens.
- Clear canopies over the pilots of fighter jets.
- Police riot shields.
- Mirrors in jails.
- Space Shuttle windows.
- And of course the Hide Away Safe.
LEXAN®, the miracle material makes the Hide Away Safe effortless to carry because of it's lightweight. For example; you can relocate it from it's docking station at your work environment to the docking station in your vehicle, then secure it in it's docking station in your home.

It is important to note that LEXAN® Polycarbonate is a fire resistant material but it is not fire-proof. The Hide Away Safe was designed as an anti-theft device. The selection of the material was primarily with consideration for impact resistance and overall strength. The fire-resistant aspect of the polycarbonate is a 'bonus' to users but not a primary consideration in terms of design or application.
Please Note: Losses of personal property (which can be stored within the Hide Away Safe) in Australia regarding theft versus fire is in the order of 820 occasions to one. That means we average 1 fire claim to every 820 claims for theft.
