mk3 Weapons Hide Away Safe
We believe the mk3 Weapons Hide Away Safe is the safest and most cost effective, commercially available Safe in the World for you to carry and securely locate your Handgun/s and ammunition in a vehicle and/or to store it in a temporary location. Potential users should independently verify its approval for use in their particular situation.
Handguns may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for people who have to carry a Handgun as part of their job or those involved in sporting activities know the safety and security of their Handgun is an absolute priority.
The mk3 Weapons Hide Away Safe includes 2 charcoal Flocked removable insert boxes (not shown in the picture to your left). The inside of the lid is padded with convoluted foam and has a charcoal flocked internal base.
Flocking is a heavy duty automotive grade velvet/suede type finish, used on past Ford LTD range on selected internal fixtures. The flocking is electrostatically fired into a special adhesive resulting in both a hard wearing and protective coating that puts a beautiful finishing touch to the Hide Away Safe internals.
Fitted to the front of the Safe is a Fold Back Handle, you can see this from the picture above. We have included this Fold Back Handle as a standard feature on all mk3 Safes to make it easy to insert the Safe in and out of it's Docking Station and while carrying it.
This version of the Hide Away Safe comes standard with:
- A single docking station.
- The Abloy PROTEC (ultra) High Security Locking System security lock, heavy duty cam assembly and two nickel silver keys.
It is currently being prepared for tested for approval by SCEC (Australian Defense Forces) for a variety of purposes not currently used for.

The Abloy PROTEC Lock will be installed as standard on all test samples therefore once approval is obtained all existing Hide Away Safe models being used to secure firearms/weapons and other purposes still to be determined, will need to be upgraded to the Abloy PROTEC (ultra) High Security Lock System (if not already configured) to legally conform to these regulations.
The mk3 Weapons Hide Away Safe will secure and protect the majority of handguns. There is ample room for four 22's, 38's, 9 mm's or two 357 magnum and two old navy 450 powder handgun.
Under current legislation, the mk3 Weapons Hide Away Safe is one of three ways of legally carrying a Handgun in a car in the ACT (Australian Capital Territory). See 'ACT Firearms Reg & Orders'. Ref 'Registrar's Guidelines for the Storage of Firearms & Ammunition in Vehicles'.
It must be stated and clearly understood the mk3 Weapons Hide Away Safe is not approved as yet, as a stand alone permanent storage facility for Handguns in the home.
It is however being used by State and Territory Police Force in Australia under a 'risk management regime' in one way or another. Potential users should independently verify its approval for use in their particular mobile situation.
